Hey, I’m Shariah, ‘Riah’ for short — licensed esthetician, beauty alchemist, and the owner of MISTIC SKIN

I started Face It with Riah as movement where skin meets soul and self-care is deeper than a product haul. This isn’t just another beauty blog—it’s a soft landing for the girls who glow through what they go through and want to learn a thing or 2 about their skin (& selves)!

I was born and raised in the heart of Flatbush, Brooklyn before officially making Long Island my permanent home. Born to a Jamaican-American father and a Puerto Rican—Sicilian mother, I was given the best of all worlds pertaining to culture, identity, and ambition as a woman of color. It was through this rich heritage that I was thrown into the world of beauty thanks to my natural knowledge of home remedies, DIY skincare, and general nutrition. 2 short months after dropping out of college at the University of Albany in 2016, I decided to enroll into Esthetics School at the Long Island Nail, Skin, and Hair Institute. What started as a seemingly small interest blossomed into a full-blown affinity for skincare, health, beauty, wellness, and personal development.

With almost 10 years of hands-on experience in the treatment room, I’ve seen firsthand how our skin tells stories. I’m here to translate them. Whether I’m breaking down ingredients, sharing a client win, featuring a product fave of the week or dropping a little spiritual tea, I want you to leave every post feeling seen, soothed, and maybe a little more MISTIC-AL.
